Just to confirm you want to run the Admin Tools, “Run Conversion Program”, “Run Progress Program”, “Run Progress Editor” and “UD Schema Update”?

Sincerely,

Patrick Winter

Subject: [Vantage] Progress 32 bit Epicor Admin tools on 64bit server

We have our Epicor 9.05.702 with Progress Database installed on Windows 2008 Server 64 bit.  Recently, our admin tools program has started to crash and will not run (it says Prowin32.exe has crashed, fault module name winnt.dll) .  I phoned into Epicor support for help and they told me that in order to run the Epicor Admin tools, I’d have to run it in a 32 bit environment.  Our admin tools had been working fine til now and I find it very hard to believe that we are the only company in the world that has the Epicor Admin tools installed on a 64 bit Win 2008 server.  I was NOT happy with Epicor’s response (especially since I had THEM install the system from scratch).   Can anyone verify that they are running the Epicor Admin tools (progress db) on their Windows 2008 64 Bit server?   Thanks in advance.
