Saw there was an update to Pilot and when reviewing the What’s New I noticed that Kinetic now has the ability to have Blanket POs!! Not sure when it was released, but thought everyone would like to know as it is a common request.
I have not tried it yet, but the field is on the Part Warehouse card. It looks like you can associate a PO for the part that is used as a blanket and when running MRP, if more is needed the system will add a release to the existing PO Line.

Thanks. I knew it was released sometime in 2024.1, but not sure when. I was surprised that such a highly requested feature did not get more fanfare.

I have worked in two different Purchasing environments both in Food and Equipment. Each environment, a Blanket PO was for a master amount and then the system would generate releases off that master amount until it was consumed. I do not see this system doing that with this update. Instead it just ties a part to a PO and generates releases off that PO. There doesn’t appear to be a way to keep track of that master amount aka Blanket PO without creating a separate sheet outside of Kinetic. Am I wrong?

I believe you are correct. The one thing that you might be able to do is use a Purchase Contract to track the total amount. I have never used this functionality so I am not sure if it would work. I recommend researching the Purchasing Contract or asking people on here if they know more about it.
