But in all seriousness, we pay a lot of money every month so that this kind of outage doesn’t happen
Just pulled the Epicor slide from the contract and came across the Backup Strategy:
"
Several copies of customer data are replicated near in real time across multiple datacenters set up as Azure Availability Zones. Epicor leverages Microsoft best-practice technologies to facilitate a rapid recovery in the unlikely event a datacenter is rendered inoperable"
Having issues in the UK too - cannot access things like SSRS Report printing and Epicor Data Discovery EDD. Contacted Support and they say they’ve been inundated with other customers with the same issue in the last 30 minutes.
Our EDI Van company (TIE Kinetix) is also down due to this Microsoft crash. We cannot print anything and have two tasks stuck in our System Monitor that I have asked Epicor to delete but I know they are super busy. We have been down since last night at 6:30 pm. CRAZY!!!
As @Dragos mentioned, this appears to be linked to a piece of software running everywhere, CrowdStrike anti-malware.

Huge Microsoft Outage Linked to CrowdStrike Takes Down Computers Around the World
A software update from cybersecurity company Crowdstrike appears to have inadvertently disrupted IT systems globally.
Banks, airports, TV stations, hotels, and countless other businesses are all facing widespread IT outages, leaving flights grounded and causing widespread disruption, after Windows machines have displayed errors worldwide.
In the early hours of Friday, companies in Australia running Microsoft’s Windows operating system started reporting devices showing Blue Screens of Death (BSODs). Shortly after, reports of disruptions started flooding in from around the world, including from the UK, the Netherlands, and the US: TV station Sky News went offline, and US airlines United, Delta, and American Airlines issued a “global ground stop” on all flights.
The widespread Windows outages have been linked to a software update from cybersecurity giant Crowdstrike. It is not believed the issues are linked to a malicious cyberattack. Engineers from the company posted to the company’s Reddit forum that it has seen “widespread reports of BSODs on Windows hosts” occurring across its software, is working on the problem, and has advised a workaround for impacted systems.
I do recall hearing at an Insights that after the SolarWinds incident, Epicor purchased CrowdStrike.
This was an unprecedented global event no amount of planning or DR can cover everything. It also doesn’t help if the infrastructure as a service they use is also down and they have no control over
You can say that again… as a millennial I could use less “Once in a life time events” in my life… thank you. We’ve had our fill, they are supposed to be once in a lifetime… not every other Tuesday
