Yeah, I feel the same way. But I lost that battle six years ago:

MRP and make-to-order

If a part is Non-stock = TRUE Qty-Bearing = FALSE Then “Process MRP” is grayed out and not checked. Specifically it’s because of the qty-bearing flag. But my point is, if this is how I want the part to be - a part we do not want to stock but might still sell - then I just shot myself in the foot if I want MRP to make jobs for the part (and demand for the components). I’ve known this in the back of my mind, but I am just now seeing the ramifications of it. Ugh. I have hundreds of parts that…

Make direct and non-qty-bearing means “JK! I don’t really want to make this part at all! Carry on!”

But still your thing is crazy that Kanban is only for jobs. It’s hard to accept that notion.
