Rant about kinetic printing on prem

UGH…
We’re on prem converting to kinetic. When trying to print to a client printer the printer just spins and spins. I opened a support ticket and this was their response.

Yes, I can see the printers on the web, but my users currently use the client version. Telling them to just keep trying is mind boggling. :sob:

are there any errors in the Edge Agent logs? you can open folder with them from tray icon for EA

That’s the same response we got from Support on this issue years ago. They never seemed interested in resolving it.

We had this issue forever ago, I think changing the default printer resolved it. Something to do with the print drivers.

No way, it was that simple. I removed let computer auto select default printer and manually choose one. It works now!!! I was resigned to finding a hack for them to print.

It has something to do with how ssrs renders the document.
