Everyone on E10 should implement these changes, otherwise things like MRP, Global Scheduling, Build Project Analysis, COS WIP may run and cancel themselves. Typically this only starts occurring when users have higher volumes. It all comes down to the default setting for Transactions in windows to timeout after 10 minutes.
This has caused numerous support calls and issues that are quite easy to solve, at least they have created a video now to do it. Shame the dissemination of this type of guidance is not better.

Subject: [Vantage] received alert of a new E10 file uploaded on epicweb - E100700x_best_practices_adjustments_web.config,machine.config,rsreportserver.config,taskagent.config_20150624
Has anyone had a chance to look at this yet or made the changes it is referring to? Description is: Best practices adjustments to web.config, machine.config, rsreportserver.config, and taskagent.config files for your Epicor ERP Version 10 installation.

Read-me from the zip file is below.
READ-ME
Epicor has identified several system configuration adjustments that will improve the use of resources and avoid encounters with processing Timeout/lock-up events. The adjustments are made to the web.config, machine.config, rsreportserver.config, and taskagent configurations for all Epicor ERP 10.0 installs. In Epicor ERP 10.1 these settings will be defaults, but, until that time these recordings were created to make it easier to implement these changes successfully and we highly recommend deployment of these adjustments at your earliest convenience. In order to watch the recordings, you’ll need an .mp4 player such as VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/).
FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY DEPLOYED AN APPSERVER FROM THE EPICOR ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE (EAC):
1. Watch and implement the changes in BPVID1 - machine.config, rsreportserver.config, taskagentconfiguration_E100700x.mp4 AFTER BUSINESS HOURS (please don’t complete this during business hours as it may/will cause interruptions to business processing). You'll need the config_file_adjustments_E100700x.txt to copy the values from to paste into the appropriate config file. Restart any server where you made adjustments. If the MS ReportServer service and appservers start, you can log in and print, continue on. If not, put those backups that you created back into production and restart everything again and contact support with the errors you were receiving. Everything should stand up without error.
2. Watch and implement the changes in BPVID2 - web.config best practices adjustments_E100700x.mp4 next (please don't complete this during business hours as it may/will cause interruptions to business processing). You'll need the config_file_adjustments_E100700x.txt. If after the appserver recycle you can log in and print, continue on. Just remember that you'll have to complete this process for every deployed Epicor ERP appserver in your environment.
3. Watch the BPVID3 - rebuilding server.zip_E100700x.mp4 and implement any time (it doesn't require a restart of anything) but before you provision another appserver process from the Epicor Administration Console. You'll need the updated web.config.template which is located in this zip file where the recordings are located. The recording mentions that this file would be on EpicWeb under the Epicor ERP 10 download section, but we included it in the zip file for your convenience.
FOR NEW CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE NOT YET DEPLOYED AN APPSERVER FROM THE EAC:
1. Watch and implement the changes in BPVID1 - machine.config, rsreportserver.config, taskagentconfiguration_E100700x.mp4 AFTER BUSINESS HOURS (please don’t complete this during business hours if the servers in question are used for current production activities as it may/will cause interruptions to business processing). You'll need the config_file_adjustments_E100700x.txt to copy the values from to paste into the appropriate config file. Restart any server where you made adjustments. Everything should stand up. NOTE: You may not have a task agent service installed at this point and if that is the case, you would want to complete that specific adjustment after the Epicor Task Agent service is installed and the task agent configuration is created.
2. Watch the BPVID3 - rebuilding server.zip_E100700x.mp4 and implement any time (it doesn't require a restart of anything) but before you provision an appserver process from the Epicor Administration Console. You'll need the updated web.config.template which is located in the zip file where the recordings are located. The recording mentions that this file would be on EpicWeb under the Epicor ERP 10 download section, but we included it in the zip file for your convenience
