We’re failing the DB query test pretty badly(last run was 10 sec and it should be less than 3.5 sec), have what we believe is overkill in regards to available hardware, and have very few users(<10). We are pretty inexperienced and I believe we could benefit from someone to guide us and educate us on troubleshooting performance problems.
We’re primarily looking for recommendations for consultants, as we’ve experienced quite a wide range in consultants capabilities so hoping to find someone really good
@Aaron_Moreng thanks! We do have a ticket open, but some of the suggestions they have made, made us loose a bit of confidence(suggesting non-applicable KB articles). I’ll try pushing on that front more, but having someone our IT manager can ask specific questions to I think would help(e.g. the CPU test fails on the server as well as high end work stations - are we testing the server CPU or client, and if we’re exceeding hardware sizing guide why is this benchmark failing?).
Keep the pressure on with support, they are the right dudes to solve but maybe the questions aren’t being formulated correctly. I’d just hate to see you spend $$ on something you’re already paying for.
Perhaps posting some specifics here might help too? It’s usually not a resource issue and probably a configuration issue. Your IT manager should be able to get on the phone with support vs. emailing back and forth too, just request that.
Keep escalating support if you are not getting the help you need. Like @Aaron_Moreng said, they have great resources there. Sometimes you have to request to speak to another person at one point or another if the KB articles are not helping. Ask them to transfer you to someone else, or use the escalate case in epiccare. Managers will see it and do what is necessary.
