Record Entry Requirements Flow-Chart

We are currently in the implementation process for E10.
Is there any documentation that explains what you need setup before entering a record?

For example, in order to create a Bill of Operation on a part you have to create the operation first in Operation Entry. But in order to add an operation, you need to select a resource for the operation. To add a resource you need to create a Resource Group.

Of course we figured this out with trial and error. But it would be nice if there was a flowchart or document telling us that you need to setup Resource Group, Resource before we can add an Operation to a BOM.

Do I make sense?

Thanks!

Does E10 have a DMT tool? Was there a DMT Lab book that you could use? curious becuse we will be going to E10 soon. I also found out when using E9 DMT that the order in labs is the order you need to use.

I would highly recommend Epicor Education for this kind of question. It would be extremely difficult for us to outline all the different requirements to enter a given record in Epicor. The Epicor education documents would have most of this information, there is also the application guide available at Epic web.

@Kimberley yes E10 has a DMT

Andrew, I have a roadmap for financials setup that I can share with you. It
has some of the basics for other setups as well such as operations and
resource groups. I can email it to you if you contact me with your email
off line

The latest version of DMT has a “migration” mode which lists out Phases 1-5 in the order you need to import records.

The DMT is a great tool to use but I find some modules you will need to go back to finish the Import.

Buyer for example shows up under phase 1 but you cannot complete it until you complete the User import in phase 3.

This is for DMT 4.0.6.0

How do you access this “migration” mode?

Oh wow, look at that. Is there a print out of this somewhere?
