It seems almost out of reach to re-create the Work In Process report.
I have read many threads about this and usually either the topic is not exactly this or the answers seem to be insufficient.
Looking at the report, I see 34 data points to be calculated. Some of which are not difficult to find, for instance the Qty shipped can be found from PartTran if not making a mistake.
However the rest seem very cryptic. Is there a reference for this that you know of? The problem is not creation of the report, it is in fact my lack of knowledge about the logic of it.
Could you please refer me to a guide where I can find details about the logic behind this report?
I guess my biggest challenge is for the data points from #11 till #34
I acknowledge that the report is based on the calculated dataset TWIP, so if you can help me figure out how this dataset is created/calculated, that would be the solution
Take a look at Extended Properties. Search for TWIP, and you should find a list of the columns along with some “like table” and “like field”. This might be enough for you. Good luck!
FWIW
attached SQL file that someone I know pulled from his SQL server a few days ago.
Quote “This was quite resource intensive to trace down from the server side and I may have to run it again around the hours when Epicor is not widely used and…I still need to search the parameters, variable “@AvailCompLst”…that would allow us to execute this SQL code”.
A couple days later he told me that he did get it working but… no details.
But… might give you some ideas. WipBASE.sql.txt (30.0 KB)
Also - Epicor used to have an Answerbook 6135MPS (Vantage 8)
that gave a good general overview of what goes into TWIP.
I’m not sure it’s ever been updated for E10, or if it’s even still available…might be worth a call to support?
