Renaming warehouse bins

Is there a way to rename bins? Seems like there isn’t.

You can modify the description 'if unique), but not the code i think

Unless someone has a solution the best I came up with was:

  1. Make new bin
  2. Move current inventory to new bin
  3. Delete old bin.

I’ll use DMT to mass move the parts from old bin to the new bin. A BAQ to pull down all the parts in the specific bin.

We have run into this before, and your solution is correct. You can’t rename a BIN as any attempt will make you create new one & @Jarry was correct that you can rename the description.

You also can’t delete a bin with contents as it is being used by the system and other record tie-ins.

You nailed it, create a new bin, move it, delete the old one. IMHO, you should mark your answer as a solution as others will run into this, I’m sure.
