We use Global Software's SpreadsheetServer for our GL reporting. It talks directly to Vantage in Excel via SQL Native Client. I use SQL Server's replication engine to replicate the GL-related tables to my remote site twice a day to ensure performance is good for that location.

We split our reporting between several different methods.
Dashboards
ODBC crystal reports
BAQ driven crystal reports
We also use a third-party software called F9 for our General Ledger
Reporting. (This uses a series of VBS scripts to pull data out to CSV files
that are then processed by the F9 software which is a "Module" add on to
excel)
Instructions on how to use the top three can be found in the Epicor tools
user guide.

Sure. You can add anything you want to the menu, including calling external
programs, or just pointing to external files.

Do you mean ODBC connection to DB from MS Access & Excel for reporting? Does
it mean the report is executed out of the Vantage client interface, and all
by itself?
