We were closed during the holidays, but our MRP was still running. We noticed changes in the ReqDueDate (Required By) for some orders. We found this odd, since nothing has changed in the order book for these parts, since no one was working to change anything. When checking one of the orders, I see the date being pushed every week during MRP. This makes no sense to me, as we are using backwards scheduling and there were no changes that could lead to a different date the parts would be required.
On 14-12-2025 it changed from 12-12-2025 to 15-12-2025
On 19-12-2025 it changed from 15-12-2025 to 22-12-2025
On 26-12-2025 it changed from 22-12-2025 to 29-12-2025
On 02-01-2026 it changed from 29-12-2025 to 07-01-2025
It makes sense to me that you can’t have a RequiredBy date in the past and thats why it is pushing it. But why does it not set it to be 10-02-2026 (see screenshot below, we set it to 10-02 by hand now) in the first place, as that is when the parts are actually needed (and we use backwards scheduling)?
