Reserving inventory

Good Morning!
Hope everyone on the southeast coast is doing alright!

Anyways, is it possible to reserve inventory in Epicor without an actual order?

We have a group of customer accounts that the business wants to hold inventory for. Is there another option besides creating a fake warehouse and moving inventory there?

Non-Nettable Bins might work.

From the help…

Warehouse Bin Maintenance-Detail Fields

Non Nettable

Specifies if inventory balances stored in this warehouse bin are considered non-nettable.

  • Select the check box if inventory balances stored in this warehouse bin are considered non-nettable . Inventory balances stored in non-nettable bins are not included in on-hand quantities, in MRP calculations, are not considered as a source of supply inventory for fulfillment processing in the Fulfillment Workbench, nor as source of supply inventory for the Replenishment Workbench.

Hmmm interesting, so when it is time to fulfill an order with said inventory on"reserve" would a bin transfer to a nettable bin need to happen first?

I don’t know. We don’t have any non-nettable bins.

One thing to know, the Stock Status Report requires you to select an option to include non-nettable bins.

If your Accounting Dept reconciles the Inv GL with the SSR (WHICH THEY SHOULDN’T!!!), missing this setting could cause issues.

Thanks Calvin!

Hi @jgehling
if you are using LotTracked functionality, then in -my opinion- add few UD fields and BPM to hold any ticked lot from dispatching or/and using in any Jobs, this way you do not need to move them to any bin as well as still can see them in all On-Hand screens query
