Sales Analysis Report

I am working in 5.10.135 and would like to see if anyone has written
a sales analysis report similar to the "canned" report in financial
management/accounts receivable/reports/sales analysis but without all
the detail. We are looking for a report that shows totals only of
such things as previous/current YTD totals and current monthly
totals. Any suggestions as to a quick way to do this??

On v. 5.1 and by design, apparently, the Group Total and Report Total
amounts for shipped quantities have been eliminated from the Sales
Analysis Report. It still shows dollar amounts by group and report but
not quantities. Because this was done by design (I'm not sure why), it
is not considered a bug. In order to get them back them back an
enhancement request has been made but in the meantime I need a method to
come up with group and report totals.

Two options come to mind. First, print the report and manually add up
all the individual part quantities (couple hundred of 'em) to come up
with a report total. Second, preview the report and open the .txt file
in Excel and start to manipulate it to add up the part totals. Of these
two, I think the Excel solution would be the better choice.

Anyone out there have any easier / better ideas?

Marty,

I am sure you can already tell what my third solution is. Yep, the report
can either be rewritten or modified. But I am guessing you already ruled
that out because it's not free. Just thought I'd mention it anyways.

A product called "Monarch" (form DataWatch) would handle this very well.
Very powerful but the learning curve is a little steep. Allows you to
"highlight" areas of a text file (print to text) and then add totals and
breakpoints. Also very good for extracting data from reports into
spreadsheets.
