Sales gross margin report in Epicor

What does the *\ mean under column TxtCalc_LineLCost2
on the Sales gross margin report? Does anyone have a flow chart of steps that should be done to get an accurate margin report. Such as: run wip report first or what needs to be done first?

Thank you, Still learning!

I don’t have that field in my report, so yours could be custom.

All of the data in SGM comes from the InvcDtl and is set at either shipment if shipping from the job or receipt to inventory if make to stock.

So your job is where the SGM gets all of the good and bad info. We ship partials as jobs are in process, so all material and just enough labor to produce a few pieces are on the job. When those ship, even though Epicor does a good job of trying to allocate for the partials you can see margins off by 50 points. Likewise at the end of a job a receipt to inventory may only have a penny of cost left and you will see a massive margin that again is not real.

I have a gross margin dashboard based on the work of @hkeric.wci from the thread below. If you download his baq it is a great starting point.

thank you great info
