Sales Order Firm Release Default

Jose,

Thanks for the tip. My earlier post on not seeing an action was when I was
looking at Standard. After my post I tried the In-Transaction and found an
action that worked.

Thanks to both you and John for helping me through this problem.

Mike

Are you on 9.05? If so Use a Data Directive this is how I've done it before,
use a data directive on OrderRel and set the field to false if the RowMod
is A

I have been asked to default all new orders to NOT be Firm Released. Looking at the data dictionary, OrderRel.FirmRelease defaults to Yes. Is there a way for me change this default to No? Or should I try to create a BPM that changes the field to No when the order is created? Not sure if I have the ability to change the data dictionary and if so how to do it or am I in an area I shouldn't be in.

I am having problems with creating a BPM for this. My first approach was to
create a Post-Processing Method Directive on Salesorder.update. One of my
problems is identifying new records. When I add a new line to the order,
the RowMod for ttorderdtl and ttOrderRel comes back as blank. Another issue
with this is the last line added does not appear to be writing to the
database when the process runs.
When I looked at a Data Directive for OrderRel, I can see a condition that
should let me identify new records, but I don't see an action that allows me
to change the value for only the new records.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mike

John,

Thanks for responding. I must be missing something. GetNewOrderDtl is the
start of the new line. Since FirmRelease defaults to Yes on OrderRel I
need to catch the process after OrderRel is created and then change the
value to No.

Mike

I am on 9.04. I see the condition - "the specified
field(OrderRel.FirmRelease) of the added row is equal to True", but I am not
seeing an action that would allow me to change this record's FirmRelease to
False. Will one of the actions allow me to do this and I am just not
understanding it? Also when I use a Post processing method directive on
SalesOrder.Update and create an informational action to show my values,
ModRow for both ttOrderDtl and ttOrderRel come back without an "A" or "U".
