Schedule Shipment report

Tim, that's amazing. Is there a way you can share the Excel file? Do you connect to the database via ODBC? I'm running Progress.

Thanks

By changing the CR parameters you may be able to have the report stick to a defined date range, but that removes flexibility from the report. In Crystal you can have the user prompted for starting and ending dates. You can do these same thing sin Excel and the report is produce in less than 2 seconds. In CR it takes a little while to come up.

Tim, tech support suggested I changed the CR parameters. Does that make sense at all? This report is based on Data Definition and Report Style. By the way what is a parameter report? Thanks for your input.

In the end, I found it easier just to recreate the report in Excel as a
parameter report. This way it asks the user for the starting and ending
date. It also produces the report much faster than Vantage and CR.

Just wondering if there is a need to customize the report option screen
or are these prompts in a data definition file? I need to add a
beginning Due Date and I don't want to re-create a whole new report.
Thanks for your input.

I believe what tech support is suggesting is that you can add a START FROM parameter in crystal.

That would work but it would present a dual-prompt report environment.

We rewrote the report as a BAQ because the 'program' reports such as this don't offer any usable fields to transport custom parameters across to crystal. BAQ reports give you some fields for this purpose.

In Excel a parameter is created in the criteria section. I use this to prompt the user for a start and end date.
