Scheduled Task - Report generating by user

The report will run at the appointed time regardless of the user being logged in or not. The catch is if you want to print the report out at the time of the report running. If the user is NOT logged in when a report that is being sent to a printer is run it will NOT print until the user logs in. Epicor printing is Client side and if there isn't a client it doesn't know where to print it.

So if the user schedules it for 3:00 AM, logs out and goes home, the report will "generate" at 3:00 AM but won't print until the user logs in at 8:00 AM or whenever.

There is a script floating around that sets up a session that stays logged into Epicor for use with reports that you want to print out as they are generated. For example a pick list that you want the swing shift to use. You can get it from Epicor and I think it may have been posted on this group as some point. It basically starts a session in Epicor and resets it every day or so to keep it alive.

No the user doesn't (shouldn't) need to be logged in. We have several that run and the users are not logged in.
