[semi-OT] Zebra Label Printer - Multiple Copies

Thanks for the ideas. No, I don't have any other printers directly attached
to my PC. Yes, I can print the exact same RB report to several HP laser
printers and the correct number of copies prints. I can also print a Word
document (very skinny) to the Zebra and it too prints the correct number of
copies. Only the RB-Zebra combo does not work.

Zebra support said there was an issue with "collate" commands in some
printer drivers which would cause the printer to ignore copies BUT there is
no collate check box in the RB Print and if I purposely set collate in Word
it does print the right number of copies. So I gave up that.

Although I do have the driver for every printer in the company installed on
my abused PC they are all network shares on other PCs. But never the less I
do have HP drivers installed and if it is a driver conflict I suppose that
could explain it. Based on your experience I am going to install the Zebra
on a PC which has no other printer drivers on it and see what happens.

Also, my thanks to Mike England for some off-line suggestions.

Todd,

First of all, do you have any other printers connected to the same
computer? (namely HP) I have seen HP print drivers take over the
ports on a computer and it has produced a similar problem to the one
you are describing.

Next, can you print out multiple tags onto a regular printer?

I have been able to print out sets of tags from Report Builder
(rather tricky to make work), and although I didn't send it to a
Zebra, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Let me know what you find out and contact me if you have any other
questions.

Not sure if this is a printer issue or RB or Vantage. I have new Zebra Z4M
label printer which I am printing labels from Report Builder on. Works
great except for not being able to print multiple copies. Either set in the
Print settings or in the Record Layout or from the copies field on the
Vantage report screen it won't do more than one label. Same label report
printed to a laser printer prints copies fine.

I think it may be an issue with the Zebra printer. When the report runs it
displays "printing page X" and flashes 1 the right number of times but only
one label comes out. Anyone with experience with these printers know of a
setting that inhibits multiple copies? Or any communication issues that
might prevent multiple copies? Also, is the "Data -->" light supposed to
blink all the time? I thought it blinked only when receiving data.

Thanks.
