We had an RMA received with the wrong Serial Number… Here is what the used stated.
When I received the RMA machine into Kinetic, I missed the notes and processed the RMA with the incorrect machine - XYZ Serial# RTC000057363. Order# 691691| Job# 154739 were created during the receiving process but are incorrect as we did not physically receive this unit for repair. Can we please remove RMA 14361, Order 691691, and Job 154739 from Kinetic Case 10992 if that is the best course of action.
Also, the serial # RTC000057363 which was incorrectly received, needs to be set back to the correct status as if the machine was never here and is still with customer.
What is the best way to reverse this if possible? It is my understand that we can’t unreceive it because of a transaction on the job?
You have to try peeling the onion from the most recent transaction. Work your way back until either you succeed or hit something you can’t delete. It’s been a while since I have done something similar and can’t remember if you can.
We currently have a case open with EpicCare on this issue. We have two different lines on an RMA with incorrect SNs. Line 3 has been disposed and we were unsure what the best practice would be to backtrack. Line 5 has no disposition created. We tried to correct 11 of 13 SNs on Line 5, but the RMA seems to think that Line 5 has 24 SNs against that line now (it should be 13).
The advice we have been given from EpicCare is to set the status of the incorrect SNs to Inventory in our Test environment. I don’t seem to have access to the KB they sent with the steps, but once I do I will upload it.
We had to do some really wonky stuff. The user tried to fix it themselves. Instead of letting use fix the current RMA they created all new stuff but the job had no material or SN attached so there was a lot of clean up. We did the following…
1.Uncompleted Job# 155612
2. Added material to Job #155612
3. Processed receipt against RMA #14485 to Job# 155612
4. Deleted Sales Order #691691
5. Completed/Closed Job# 154739
6. Confirmed RMA #14361 is closed
7. Updated SN RTC000057363 to not be associated with an RMA, re-associated with Job# 150925ML and changed Status to Shipped
8. Updated SN RTC000054441 to not have 10 in the Sequence
