Serial numbers & initial conversion

We are going live 11/1. We will be assigning serial numbers at Shipping. In "Customer Shipment entry", when you add a line to a shipment and assign a quantity to ship, there is a "Serial number" button that you can hit to go in and retrieve or create serial numbers.

Subject: [Vantage] Serial numbers & initial conversion

Upcoming new user of Vantage 8.0- going live 9/1.

We have several component items of our main unit that are going to be
serialized. Unfortunately, we have thousands of some of these on
hand, and getting all the serial numbers of these is going to be a lot
of time and effort! I've tested a little, and it seems you can assign
serial numbers as you go... when issuing material to a job, doing qty
adj, trfs, etc. Is this true? Could we just start assigning serial
numbers at point of receipt beginning 9/1 and assign the in stock
serial numbers as they are used and/or billed out?
