Shop employee Supervisor

We too have the same need (as I am sure 95% of other companies
reading this are nodding their head up and down). We removed the
Supervisor button and field. We added a combo box connecting
ShortChar01 to the User table. Then of course we had to customize
every single report that pulls empbasic information to pull that
field in (UGH).

I would include our software enhancement request #, but what's the
point...

We do not use the Payroll module, but want to track the employee's supervisor so that this supervisor can review labor reports each week.
When I enter an employee ID in the Supervisor no. box, and tab off, it barks at me that I need a valid supervisor.

Is it possible to strip out this check/constraint and just let it store what I enter here in the empbasic.supervisorid field that it's attached to?
