Show Kit Details

Thank you for the info Debbie,

I was not aware of the workaround recommendation, or that it would
make a difference "pulling" from the Order vs. "pushing" from the
Quote. I was under the impression the results would be the same. We
will be testing this today.
We are also having the problem with materials not showing up in the
Jobs which is a result of their not coming across from Quote to Order.
I'm guessing that not many users create Orders using the Order Wizard
from the Quote or there would be more complaints to get this fixed.

Thanks again for your assistance.

Does anybody know which table the "Show Kit Details" checkbox is on?
We would like to have it default to checked instead of not checked.
There is the persistent problem of Kit details with no ShipDate when
created from a Quote using the Create Order Wizard. I looked into
customizing the form and could not find anywhere to set the default
for the field to TRUE.

Hi Dave,

I guess the show kit details box may not be stored in the db. It may be
a screen setting. In which case your best chance of changing it is to
use a customization. However customizations do have their own overhead
so it may depend on whether you already use them as to whether it is
worth setting one up for this.

Disappointing to hear that is still an issue in 406a. We are on 305L and
have seen it, and several permutations of it (the other problem being
kits that don't always pull their components across from quote to
order). Be aware we have also seen the situation where the kit parts are
visible in the summary view but are not attached to the parent when
viewed in the tree structure. Epicor inform us this is fixed in 40x.
These were their suggested workarounds until we move to 400.

1. Whenever a user adds a line to a quote or to a sales order make
sure they press save before the next line is added. Also make sure they
press save before a new quote/order is created. If they do this all
components will pull through to the quote/order correctly.

2. Rather than converting a quote to a sales order in the Quote Entry
screen go to the Sales Order Entry screen instead and create a new sales
order. Then go to Actions -> Get Opportunity/Quote. If this is done all
components will pull through to the order correctly.
