SendGrid to the rescue. $19 a month for 100,000 some emails, integrates with nearly everything and as a bonus, development-friendly APIs without killing yourself using Microsoft Graph.

20$ a month for a SMTP server is actually pretty expensive, considering it’s practically free to host on-premise on any Windows Server… And Graph isn’t so bad actually, it’s just a pain in the back to configure permissions properly in sharepoint…
