Solutions Manager

Thank you both for confirming it's not me. That is always nice to know. I'm glad they could offer such a valuable tool with a worthless implementation. Hooray :)

In specific I was not aware I could not export or move print rules. Let the nightmare commence.

The last consultant we had, turned me on to the Solutions Manager, but made clear that he could not get it to work. I as well cannot get it to work. I just get a numerous amount of errors during the Solution Install. It seems pretty straight forward in the building of a solution. Pick the parts you need and it packs them away. Has anyone gotten this to work before?

I used solution manager to move everything from test to live, in
9.05.603. There were a number of annoying bugs but I worked past them.

When saving a solution (prior to a build) it lost the list of
customizations, and they needed to be re-selected each time.

Numerous error messages about conflict/overwrite importing a solution,
didn't seem to matter what I answered - some imported, some didn't.

Custom report styles didn't get imported when part of a larger solution,
but I created a second solution with just those styles, and that worked

A customization on a subform didn't get imported - possibly my error
when re-selecting due to the first problem, or possibly a separate
issue. Created yet another solution with only it & worked.

Reports created with the financial report designer can't be included in
a solution, need to re-create manually.

I didn't bother to submit help calls for most of these :-(

Brian.
