You should be able to set is as a service IF you make provisions to use check for and remove the lock file.
I would start my using a bat file at startup.
If you find this works, you might look to step up to an advanced service controller like fire daemon.
You can set your service startup and run parameters. So, you can specify a bat to run first (to check and remove lock file) and then the startup parameters, if desired, all within the one service definition.
Also, it will monitor the service if you wish, so it will restart if terminated, etc...

Bill,When you start the Sonic MQ Container, it creates two lock files - I'mnot 100% where they are located, but I would take a stab that they arein the Sonic installed directory. Anyway, you will have to delete thesetwo files prior to starting the service. Why this happens? The Sonic window must be exited gracefully (i.e. hitCTRL-C on the open window). If someone presses the X on the window itwill not remove these files - probably why it will not work as aservice.Hope this helps.Jason ClaggettMicrosoft Small Business SpecialistMCP #38561592W Technologies, LLC312.533.4033 x8039jason@...: vantage@yahoogroups.com [mailto:vantage@yahoogroups.com] On BehalfOf hoomail4meSent: Tuesday, April 01, 2008 1:45 PMTo: vantage@yahoogroups.comSubject: [Vantage] Re: SonicMQ as a serviceCan someone explain what this "lock file" is called and where it islocated?Thanks,Bill--- In vantage@yahoogroups.com <mailto:vantage%40yahoogroups.com> , "JoeLuster" <jluster@...> wrote:>> Did you remember to delete the lock file?
