Spinning off a product line?

At this point in Epicor's evolution, DMT is what you want.  I did something similar not too long ago.  It took a bit of "massaging" the data, but the end-result was precisely what we wanted.

Subject: [Vantage] Spinning off a product line?

Has anyone here spun off a product line to a new company or sold it to a new company who also uses Epicor and migrated the data in some way?

I would think the best way to do this would be to use the DMT and create a whole new DB with a new company and pass it off that way. Maybe something with sonic and running 2DBs at the same time with a multi-something to populate one with data from the other?

Just wondering about alternatives? I think just passing off the whole existing DB would be giving too much information to the other company since they would get information about product lines, customers, etc that are not relevant or necessarily part of the sale.

Any inputwelcome.
