SSRS Breaking/Routing Does Not Work In Kinetic Cloud currently

So I just found out that in Kinetic Cloud you are not able to create the SSRS Breaking/Routing and I do have the license to do this. After going back and forth with the Epiccare support, they provided me with the solution below which I’m going to share with you all if your facing the same situation I did.

To explain it better, in Kinetic Cloud environment if you ty to create a new SSRS Breaking/Routing the Add button is just dim and you can’t click on it.

The support ticket came back to me asking me to login to Classic. Unfortunately, after login to Classic view and opening the Report Style the menu STILL comes out as Kinetic.

Reason for this is because in the Menu Maintenance, the Program Type has been set to Kinetic App already.

Solution? Create a new Menu and set the settings below or refer to the image below.
Program Type: Menu Item
Classic Program: Ice.UI.ReportEntry.dll
Kinetic Application: Ice.UI.ReportEntry

Note: you will only be able to open this in the Smart Client and not on the Web browser.

The support did mention moving forward, Cloud will be able add SSRS Breaking/Routing on its own but for now if anyone on Cloud want to do it, they will need to use the Classic.

Hope this helps.

Just getting in to this area of our implementation. Thanks for saving me the time and headache of finding this out!

There is also an overflow menu option in the Kinetic menu maintenance called Kinetic Options (after you copy to current company in cloud) that will allow you to change from classic to kinetic without creating all new menu items. If you leave Enable User Override, you can also use the preferences to switch between classic and Kinetic. The change did appear on the menu maintenance screen until closing and reopening. I don’t believe the opening of the menu item will take effect until after you close and reopen Epicor.

Doesn’t help much for the actual problem of break/routing greyed out, but at least you don’t have to make all customer menus.

I am not seeing this option when I click copy to current company. Is there something I need to enable before this is visible?

Try saving, and go out and back in to Menu Maintenance.

I still don’t see it in the overflow

I know there is a Kinetic Options, I had used the same solution for the BAQ Menu as the Kinetic view had a lot of bugs for me.

But for the Cloud environment I am in there isn’t the Kinetic Option for the Report Style Menu. It was why I send a support ticket to Epiccare as I didn’t have the option to disable the Kinetic or open it in classic view.

So this solution is if you have the same issue I have.

Try copy to current company first should open up that option. My screenshot above is from report style.

Nope it didn’t work, when I was sending the ticket to the support, I even closed the entire Smart Client and re-open it and it still doesn’t appear.

Just a note, mine is Kinetic Cloud 2023.1.6

I know your version says Current Cloud but can you confirm you’re on 2023.1.6? That should rule out whether this is an issue with versioning, as both I and Mei Mei Tan are on this version.

We are 2023.1.5, 2023.1.6 will be installed over the weekend for us. I can test again with that version.

As of Version 2024.2.12 on April 21, 2025, the SSRS Breaking/Routing is not functional in Kinetic. You can’t create, design, or edit a breaking/routing rule in Kinetic. This is confirmed by EpiCare. We are still supposed to use the Classic Smart Client to design the breaking and routing.

It’s going to be in power tools, its not going to be in kinetic.

Hello Alisa,
Thank you for the reply. What are power tools and where do I find them?
Always discovering new things,
Heide

They aren’t released yet, coming in 2025.2.

To avoid opening another post, does anyone know if we have any advance on this issue?

We have several SSRS reports that use a Break routing and I am wondering how we will do this when the Epicor Smart Client gets killed off after this May’s 2026.1 release. cheers.

Incidentally I did download Power Tools back in November last year but I probably need a latest version as none of the apps seem to work.

It works in Power Tools in 2025.2 so I assume that when 2026.1 comes out and kills the smart client that will remain the same.

I have opened a Case with Epicare as I cannot get Report Style Classic to open in Power Tools Advance Print Routing.
This is on 2025.2.10

I have an open ticket also. Scheduled Teams meeting today at 11:00 - I will let you know.

I was able to get it to work by running the power tools installer as an admin, and then clicking the UD services button instead of the Advanced printing routing button.
