I have seen a couple posts about issues with formatting SSRS labels printed on Zebra label printers, but I didn’t find a thread that had a conclusion. Please let me know if I missed a post about this that has a conclusion.
I am using a Kinetic customization to print a label that was created in SSRS. My issue is that when I go to print the label the text on the label is down about half an inch from where it should be, my label is 1.5x1 inch so its moved down about half the page. Print preview is fine, its only the physicals prints that are off.
I’m printing from cloud on a ZD410 printer.
Other labels print out and look fine, just this one label that was created as a BAQ report that is having an issue.
So, I’ve read stuff about how Zebra printers need a different type of file sent to it than what Epicor sends when it prints a PDF, something like ZPL files type, which if that is the issue, is there anything I can do to change that?
I also thought about calibrating the printer, but if other labels are printing off fine, then I was afraid that could impact the labels that are already working correctly.
I just feel a little lost, as my report looks okay, until I print it.
Mr. Jarrad: I would start by checking the default label settings in the printer properties of the PC printing the labels And/Or check the printer properties of the server you are using to print the labels.
Not sure if you have tried this, but if I am having spacing issues, I try to make a copy of the label with no fields and draw a box close to the perimeter. This lets me know if it’s the label sizing or my fields causing the issues.
This was ultimately the answer. I had to reconfigure the Printer settings to work with the label. The label size was not set up properly, perhaps this printer was used for a different label at some point in time, but the labels were a little bit larger than the ones we were actually using, so I had to adjust the size and the content of my label started to look way better. then I used a Top Margin to push the content down and it looks good.
