SSRS Report Upload not Updating in Epicor

We are working on making changes to the AR invoice form. I have downloaded, unzipped, made the changes, saved, zipped, uploaded, success! When I test the form by viewing an invoice, the changes are not in the form. We have rebooted the server and that hasn’t worked either. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? Thank you.

Nina

I apologize if this comes off as a mean sounding question… but are you choosing your new style when you print?

The AR form is the worst. I have had issues with it before when adding in new fields or tables because the file gets too large. What exactly are you changing? If you are adding stuff, you may need to change the RDD by hiding fields not used.

I have selected the correct form. Even just made a copy of the standard and only changed on font color as a test and that doesn’t work either.

We are only moving two text boxes because the alignment is off. Not adding fields or anything else like that.

One if my biggest mistakes is to have both Live and PIlot open.
I make changes to Pilot - upload to the server and then Preview in LIVE - wrong! - bites me every time

Hello, did you find any solutions to this? I have the exact same problem for a cloud environment.

I created a new report style for ARForm and modified it with report builder. I then uploaded the new files succesfully and it worked.

I then made some more changes afterwards to the report and now, whatever I upload has a success message but nothing seems to be updating on the server side, my old modified report still always shows up when I test it. I also tried deleting the copied report style and recreating it from scratch and guess what… my first modified report always comes back somehow, even if I don’t upload any new report style.

Mr. Samuel: if you use the Epicor “Design SSRS Report” from the Print dialog - Then from the System Monitor you Download the report - Epicor now stores it in a strange place c:\users<userprofilename>\AppData\Roaming\Reports\Reports\CustomReports<reportname>.

I often will use the Report Style to download the report modify it and then upload it using just the report style. However, these two things are NOT the same.

I have found that now i tend to use the print dialog “Design SSRS Report” and do the download from to the c:\users<userprofilename>. . . Then after i “Publish” (upload the report to the server) I then use the report style to download the report files.

I have not found a way to control the download folder - i have a ticket in right now. my whimpers go unheard :frowning:

Note the Epicor download folder does NOT offer you the ability to separate Live from Pilot etc. So be careful.

I suspect from what you are saying that this sounds like a folder issue.

Hello DaveO,

Thanks for the instructions. So what I did is “Generate For Design” in the Print Dialog, go into System Monitor, select the report and do “Design SSRS Report” which then opened a new window “SSRS Report Design” Window with all the information from my report. Then, in this new window, I tried to download the report but nothing happens at that point… I get the “Please wait while the report is downloading” notification and the load bar, but then nothing.

I looked in my user’s appdata folder locally on the computer but I don’t see any reports folder anywhere.

I also did the same steps in an on-prem environment, and when I went to download the report, Epicor actually popped a windows window to select where I wanted to save the report folder, which worked.

So, is it saving it somewhere else im missing in a cloud environment?

Mr. SAmuel: It really depends on what client you are using, what UI you are using, what version you are on, and whether you are cloud or on-prem.

When i use the Smart Client - then i generally use the Report Style to do the downloads.

If I am on the browser then i try to use the “design ssrs” function (which downloads to c:\users.…)

I am using Kinetic web in the browser, cloud hosted on epicor public servers (so latest version I suppose). When I click the “Download” button here :

I get the download notification but nothing else happens and theres nothing in my user’s appdata folder.

I do not believe that the functionality works in web ui yet. I think you HAVE to use client.

That would actually make sense, since as I said earlier, I tried on a friend’s client on-prem version in Kinetic UI and when I clicked on Download, a Windows window popped up to select where I wanted to save…

So, is there any solutions to this? I have modified multiple reports by downloading the SSRS bundles from the report style and it always worked wonders. This is the only report that is giving me trouble :frowning:

Do the “Generate for Design” (I think you got this already).

Open the system monitor – select the row that has the Last Action = None then overflow Design SSRS Report

Click on download:

After the download the “Design” Fields should be populated. Maybe you do not have write access to the AppData folder?

Next click on Design: for my system Report Builder gets launched behind all of the windows it is there – Use Alt-Tab to select the report builder.

When you are done run the Publish,

Finally found the issue… I did not have Edge Agent setup properly. After fixing this, I was finally able to download the SSRS files in my AppData, like you said and was able to edit the report from there.

Although this did work, my report was still showing the older version! Finally, I had to rename the .rdl file and change the part to that new name in the report style’s Report Location field. I still don’t know why it wouldn’t overwrite the existing old .rdl file.

Thanks again for the help.

Any joy on this?

We have the same issue.

First we had to update our edge connectors to get the download to actually work in Kinetic.

However we have no control (in Kinetic) on where the files are downloaded to. Users are seeing their downloads go into restricted folders that they dont even have access to!

Classic worked fine…we could choose where we wanted the files to download to on our local machines. Kinetic just seems to decide for you.

Mr. Ian: My ticket on this is on the “cutting room floor”. Support wants to login to my system and I will not allow this support person to logon - we have some bad history. I have asked for another resource - it is being slow walked.

I was about to say Samuel, the only way Kinetic apps from browser speak to anything locally is through the edge agent, so I was going to suggest you take a look at that. It’s working fine for us in 2024.1
