Start all lot numbers at 500000

Got a request today to start all lot numbers at 500000 for all parts.

Would this have to be set part by part, or is there anything I can do globally?

Create a serial number mask and assign it to all parts.

Each part will pull from the same pool though!

Yes, you can create a Global Lot Sequence with ‘Global Lot Sequence Maintenance.’ But you will have to define each Part Site’s Lot Sequence to follow the Global Lot Sequence, if you haven’t already.
After you setup the Global Lot Sequence, then each Part Site has to be set as Non Part Specific and you pick which Global Lot Sequence to use.
Be aware of each parts Prefix & Trailing Date settings, if either are set those will bookend your Global Lot Sequence: [PREFIX][LOTSEQ][DATE]

Turns out they already had a global serial number group attached to their raws, they didn’t know they could adjust that number.

I hadn’t delved into their setup yet so wasn’t sure they knew about that feature or if they wanted it part by part, independent.

They are cool with global though. Thanks Mark!

Are we talking about Serial Number or Lot Numbers?
They are not the same.
