Still having problems connecting to Vantage

Also, experiment with changing bit rate and duplex settings on the client.

Foster at Epicor Technical support is well versed in these sort of issues.

* Check basic network connectivity: Can you see other machines in Network
Neighborhood? Are mapped drive letters accessible?
* Try to ping the server: Go to a DOS window, and type PING
VantageServerName (substituting the appropriate name of course) You
should get a series of replies from it.

I'm gonna guess one or both of those fail - if the ping fails, look for a
"hosts" files under the \windows or \winnt directory, open it with notepad,
and delete any line(s) that reference the vantage server by name. If the
1st fails, check network & TCP/IP settings.

Have you checked the "Services" and "Hosts" files on your PC to make sure
the proper entries are there? Services should have an entry for Vantage to
associate a TCP port. Hosts should have the IP address and name of your
Vantage server. Not real likely the could have gotten changed but possible
so something to check. On Win98 they are in the Windows folder but on
Win2000 I've found them elsewhere. You might have to search for the files
if not in Windows.
