Subcontracting Suppliers

Hello everybody!

In our company we have some manufactured parts which we have the option to subcontract them. Thus we have used 2 revisions (we intentionally opted for revision rather than alt method), one for the internal manufacturing procedure and the second for subcontracted manufacturing.

However, in part level there is no way for a user to check for which are the available subcontractors unlike purchased parts where we have the approved suppliers table.

Should we use the approved suppliers for manufactured parts when they can get subcontracted or is there another way to mark the “approved subcontractors”.

Hi Panos,

You can still use approved suppliers as you would with parts, you just need to set the ‘Type’ on the approved suppliers screen to Operation then chose the relevant subcontract operation. This will then ensure that the supplier on job operations can only be one of the approved suppliers.
