Table where field data is located

Good Day Flow:

Just to cover the basic: In any screen where the field appears,
click on the field then>> Help on upper tool bar >> Field Help >> box
may 'hide" to the left of screen - click "Field Help" rectangle >> then
at bottom "Technical Detail".

There is also, from the tree: System management >> Data Dictionary
Viewer, but you have to guess the file first.

Subject: [Vantage] table where field data is located

I'm in the process of creating a crystal report. In Epicor, is there a
quick way to find out where a specific field has it's table data
located?

Not sure what you're asking for . . . let me try to answer the way I think you're asking for. When I get asked to Identify a field I open up the form in developer mod ans select the field and look at the Property TAB to identify the table and field name.

I hope this helps, if not can you explain more?
Dan

Let me explain some more. Opening up in Developer mode to identify the Table and Field name works 90% of the time. The reason is that the control is really being connected to a DataSource and DataField. The DataSource and DataFields are really DataViews create for the form. Not all DataSources (DataViews) are actual tables in Vantage but a compilation of fields from multiple tables. As well as not all fields are directly connected to a Table.Field but possibly a Calculation that is done on the fly.

But that is how I start my search.
