I know this is old but can you elaborate on the Chromebooks? Does MES get installed right on them or is it via RDP? We want to do something like this for material handling.

Yeah, Chromebooks need to use RDP. If you need to install on the device, perhaps the new Surface Go may be an option. The base model seems to compete price wise at least with similar spec Chromebooks. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/devices/surface-go/tech-specs
Epicor is moving to the Kinetic framework, the new Kinetic based MES was demoed at Insights2019 BTW and is coming to an upgrade sometime soon-ish. I believe Kinetic is based on web-enabled frame work of Angular, so will work in a browser (Don’t kill me if I’m wrong Bart).
