Teach me oh wise ones -> Kinetic Configurator

All I’m seeing in there are restrictions for MT.

Also one thing about Advanced BPM User rights. Do you have those?

NOPE, server side is even WORSE. You can only use the expression builder and can’t even write custom code.

Hmm. Must have had that backwards. You can do code in the client?!!!

Not sure you can call my chicken scratch code but yes

For some lookups, I created invisible Inputs and they would retrieve values for me. The string would be field and row delimited. It was way faster than PcLookups. In the early days, I used Progress scripts…

I wonder if they still have you somehow marked as MT?

Epicor Cloud ERP - Multi Tenant Specific Information
You can access the Code Editor as needed from various fields in the Configurator Entry > Document Rules, Configurator Designer, Configurator Rules Entry, and Configurator User Defined Methods Entry for the following types of configurator events and conditions:

Important Advanced BPM User rights are not available to Epicor Cloud ERP - Multi Tenant Users,
as freeform C# code may introduce a security risk for access of data outside of the tenancy. Use of C# in BPMs is regulated, and requires advanced approval from Cloud Operations to ensure conformity with our security and operational standards. Most common business requirements for reading and writing data within the tenancy restrictions can be accomplished by using the built in interface. To request a feature requiring BPM Advanced User rights, contact Epicor Professional Services or an author

I mean, it took them like 5 tries to get Tax connect turned on, so maybe, but I feel like it would be messing up a lot of other things. I can confirm we can write code in BPM’s now, and other aspects of MT are gone. But if there was a configurator specific MT setting missed… I don’t know how I would know.

I don’t think so because he has the Advanced BPM set. If you are accidently marked as MT, you would not be able to do that. (Cough, cough… speaking from experience)

Where are you looking?

I’m cloud… but using classic CFG, it is clickable in Document Rules (didn’t take screen shot).

Below is Configurator Rules.

In kinetic designer:

… I haven’t developed any references… but the buttons all work and open up the corresponding forms.

!!! I don’t even get a freeform code window for rules, just the EVIL expression builder

I was about to apologize for derailing the thread to the OP but then I scrolled up and saw @klincecum started it. Nevermind

Did you have a configurator open, and unapproved? I see the code window when the code is read only, but when its in edit mode, its gone.

Kinetic looks more promising on the reference front but I haven’t figured out how to add anything yet

Oh, it just took 500 years to load

Oh no… now there is one way Kinetic configurator is better than classic

Still, I’m on the fence about ditching it…

Yeah, mine opens real fast since I don’t have any references to load, haha.

@Evan_Purdy there’s also an Advanced Configurator User checkbox in the user account security maintenance. Make sure that’s checked.

Thats what monkey Kevin was trying to show us
