Time Phased Inquiry Training Resources

Hello friends,

I was unable to locate training resources in Epicor Learning Center. Does anyone know where I could find material to teach me everything there is to know about Time Phased Inquiry?

Thank you in advance.

Time Phased Inquiry is a picture of your supply and demand for that part.

The Receipts column shows the supply (Purchase Order, Job qty completed, etc.)
The Required Qty column is the demand for that part (Sales Order, Job Mtl, etc.).
The Due column is the date that the supply/demand will be available/is needed.
The Source is where the supply/demand is coming from.

Thank you for your reply!

A couple questions, this screenshot is from the site where this part is stocked. When I select a different site, I see 0 for those 3 columns for the QTY and there are indeed 0 of that part in that site. That is to be expected, right?

Also, I am trying to troubleshoot why a part would not be showing up in Time Phased Inquiry even after MRP has run. I ended up having to run MRP just for that specific part for it to show up. Nothing else changed, just the difference of running MRP for all parts vs. the specific part I was looking for. I’m not sure if there are some common problems that I could consider?

Thank you again.

In answer to your first question, yes, it is a Site-specific screen and shows On-Hand quantity based on the site. If there is no on-hand quantity, you would see zeros in each column for the On-hand status line.

As for the part with MRP issues, it depends on the part setup and where the demand is coming from, etc. When you ran MRP for the specific part, did you run it for All sites or a specific site? Where is the demand for it coming from when you run it as a specific part?

Hi Beth,

So sorry for my delayed reply. When I ran MRP for a specific part, I used All Sites. The demand is coming from a sales order.

While exploring the issue, we found a job that has a space at the beginning of the job number and we think that might be causing the problem. We’re having some trouble fixing it because I can’t delete it. I tried closing the job and rerunning MRP, but that did not change the outcome.

Hi Angela,

Are you able to delete the demand link on the job? If you can delete the demand link, then you should be able to delete the job.

If you post a snapshot of the Time Phased screen, I can look at it to see if I notice anything. Make sure it’s the full screen. You can black out the part description if you need to do that. I need to see all the options on the top part of the screen as well as the information in the grid.

Hi Beth,

Looks like my IT team got to it first and they were able to delete it with some magic. Haha. I ran MRP again for all parts and now it appears to be showing up in Time Phased so it looks like that was the problem!

Thank you so much for all of your time spent helping me. Have a great day!
