Timeclock interface to E10?

When our personnel log in and out at the machines our .net program drops a file which triggers Service Connect to add/update labor records in Epicor’s Time and Expense.

We use ADP and don’t like it very much although they said at insights they are becoming an official partner with Epicor allowing for easier integration. We’ll see.

Thanks,

Steve

Subject: [Vantage] Timeclock interface to E10?

All:

We are considering moving to Epicor E10.1 soon. We are also looking to outsource the payroll, which would not be connected to E10.

We have two questions:

1. What are others using as their payroll service (ADP, Paychex, etc.)?

2. We envision employees clocking in to a time and attendance clock near the entrance doors. Is there a way to have a timeclock system "talk" to E10 so that when an employee clocks in or out to time and attendance a trigger is sent to E10 to "clock" them in or out of E10 automatically?

Any help is appreciated.

ADP just introduced an "integration" (sorta) with E10.1 starting in the 3rd quarter of this year... So it may be worth a look

And yes you can make your time clock "talk" to E10 depending on what your time clock interface is and how it is connected you can do it via flat file drops or a direct connection via an API or Com Port type interface. (Depending on the brand /model of your time clock)

For what its worth... We are on 9.05. We use ADP for payroll. We collect all time information thru Epicor MES (workstations near the doorways) and then just upload a file to ADP every 2 weeks.
