A real stretch but what version of MDAC is running on the server? This could maybe affect data access if it is not compatible with the SQL or ODBC versions. Like if MDAC was pretty old. A new version can be downloaded from Microsoft if needed.

Instead of the Progress Explorer Tool, you should have a SQL Explorer
Tool on the server. Connect to the database, type in the create view
statement and then hit the lightning bolt to execute the statement. You
may have to also delete the statement, type in Commit and execute it to
commit the changes.

I am testing some of my access database linked to Vantage and ran
into a problem. The customer table went from 15 indexes in 5.1 to 50
in 6.1. Big jump, but MS Access only support 32 indexes with a max
of 10 fields per. I have only tested with Access 2000 and was
wondering if newer versions might increase the indexes or perhaps
there is a different work around.
This database had use ADO recordsets and ODBC in the past. Maybe I
can dig up the old code.
