We don’t exactly issue from our crib as we treat all that stuff as expense items, but we do have it otherwise talking 360 with Epicor via purchasing and receipt entry (i.e. Epicor updates inventory to the Crib. We are using Cribmaster, and Service Connect was very useful for handling all of that. It could easily handle all those transaction real time as they are dispensed.

Subject: [Vantage] Tooling Vending Machines - Issuing Materials
Like a lot of machining companies, we have drills, inserts, end mills, etc. in a vending machine. When dispensed, the operator enters the job number he will be using them on. We get a report every month that lists what was dispensed, to what job, and at what cost. This is then hand entered into the Epicor job as a material issue.
Does anyone do anything more automated than this? I'm thinking like getting a .csv file or something from the vending machine rather than a paper report and uploading that to create all the material issue transactions.
Any ideas along those lines?
Greg
