Is it possible for non-stock to track lot?
In Part Maintenance, there is much field help on the Track Lots and Non-Stock check boxes about what makes a valid selection, and when they’re not allowed, and they don’t mention each other. So they don’t say non-stock and track lots are not allowed. In my own database, I can not find any part marked non-stock for which Track Lots is NOT grayed-out. You may be experiencing the same. However, I don’t think that is the issue because when I create a new part, I’m allowed to mark it both Non-Stock and Track Lots with no error.
Remember that to Epicor, Non-Stock really means “use from stock.” So Epicor won’t prevent you from having these items in stock, but MRP and PO suggestions will ignore these quantities when determining demand.

The system will allow you turn on Track Lots for Non-Stock items. I’ve never done it, but if the system lets you…
If you turn on track lots for non stock parts in my experience it only uses the lot number when you ship the product, during an RMA or if you receive a non stock item into stock. So when you ship or when you receive to stock you will create the lot number.
What specifically are you trying to accomplish?
Hi all,
Thanks for the reply.
We actually purchase alot of warranty
/support extention for our business.
As we want to track the expiry date of these warranty, we tried to make use of track lot.
But in order to track lot, we need to turn on quantity bearing. What we understand is that, regardless we check the non stock option or not, once quantity bearing is checked, this item will go into our inventory. This is not the desirable outcome that we wish to have as we still need to ship these extension out.
