Treeview Blank Title 77688

Thanks. I have also been able to do that. What I wanted was to force this for a customization (not a per user personalization). It looks like I was able to do this as described in the previous thread.

1. Enter developer mode
2. Personalize the tree
3. Enter customization mode.
4. Save the customization.

The form now remembers the look for all users. I will just have to leave my personalization the same for the next time I edit that form.

Thanks,
MIke

We are using version 8.03.407. Thanks in advance for the help!
This sounds similar to the challenge of changing column order in a grid (easy to do as a personalization - not obvious how to do as an all user customization).

Try this:

Before loading the app, click on customization/developer mode.

Open the app and load the current active version (or base if it isn't customized at all).

Follow the steps (which you already know) to change the tree view to how you'd like it but DON'T SAVE IT AS A PERSONALIZATION.

Go into customization/developer mode from within the app.

Save it as a uniquely named customization (and export it to xml as a backup).

Close the app.

Reopen the app and this time select your new customization (not base or any active menu-enabled customization already in place).

Did your tree view changes "stick"?

If yes, menu enable that customization.

If no, I'm out of tricks! (Sorry!) - Although I suppose you could be (very!) brave and perhaps try direct editing of the xml file.

Good luck. (Let us know if it worked!)

Rob

In the tree view, you can right click on the tree, and personnalize the view.
I have done this on the job tree to show other information.

After seeing Robert's comments I searched my memory bank.

If you go into the "Customization Tools Dialog" in the tree of inside of this window, the the epiTreeViewPanel1. Go in there to change the fields being called out.

Let the group know if it worked out.

Thanks Robert! This worked. I did it just like you said. I tested on another user who had no personalizations set and it worked.

So is changing the column order the same? I've needed to do this in the past, but never could figure it out.

Glad it worked. Yes: Same technique is only thing I've found that works on changing column order in grids for all users.

(Stumbled on it by blind luck when I was at my wits end near end of our pilot phase.)

I am trying to do something similar to this. I want to update the field that is displayed for the child node of the UD101 form. I can do this through a personalization. However, it seems that personalizations are just "auto-saved". How do I make this change through the customization tool?

Thanks,
Mike
