"Tried to call a method in an invalid procedure" Errors

We have been able to run vantage quite reliably directly over a VPN (V
8.03.405A). This is a Cisco hardware to hardware VPN, but it has been
very reliable and has eliminated the need for terminal services for us.
One thing that I have seen cause this issue is the power savings
settings on the network card driver. Even if your computer does not go
to hibernate overnight, it may shut down the network card to "save power".
It's worth a check.

I'm curious if others have seen this error. Occasionally I'll come
back to work in the morning having left my Vantage client running
overnight. I will see this error: "Tried to call a method in an invalid
procedure. (7224)" I will also see this error when I disconnect/undock
my laptop if I have Vantage running, or if I restart the MfgSys803
appserver, so it seems to indicate that the client has lost its
connection. I don't see evidence of problems on the Vantage server
logs, nor other evidence of network issues on my LAN.

Users also see this when connecting the Vantage client via VPN, either
from a remote office or from home, after a few minutes of idle time.
Because of this we're planning on deploying Vantage via Citrix for the
remote offices. But it seems troubling that this would be happening
even over a LAN (although I haven't heard reports of disconnects like
this during the day).

basically anything you you which terminates your connection to the server will cause that error. In come cases, the user's session will remain active thus disallowing them to log back in again - solution here is to kill the old session with the session manager.

Thanks,

It may also mean that you ran out of AppServers on the server I think. I
get that error occasionally, but usually after a session has been idle
for a while. I just usually close the session, and get a new one and
all is fine.
