UD Column Maintenance for Public Cloud?

I’m trying to understand the capabilities - as a Public Cloud customer - for adding user-defined fields to existing tables (e.g., APTran). Between threads on here, such as this, and Epicor statements in their course on adding UD columns, I can’t tell what to believe.

Going into UD Column Maintenance (I’m an Administrator & Security Mgr), I see only these 3 tables, and search cannot find any other tables. What am I missing?

Are you security manager?

Hi Tim,

You should see a New button on the top right of that page.

This will let you add a new UD table based on an existing table, you can see examples in the screen cap above. When you create a new UD table, kinetic will automatically create a few system fields then you can add additional fields and define their type.

After you’ve created fields you have to put in a ticket with EpicCare to have them regenerate the data model and recycle the application pools then you will be able to use the new fields.

I don’t believe you can add tables unless you have the cloud SDK. You can add columns in UD maintenance if you have the correct access.

If you have been added to the pool of customers with the cloud portal, you can even regenerate the data model for yourself.

Doh! I had expected it to list all available tables I could add UD columns to, not only those tables that had UD columns! :man_facepalming: :man_facepalming:

Honestly, I think it should be, it is for me. How odd

Hmmm, that is weird.

Even that’s not a full list of tables though, ABCCode for instance should be at the top of the list if it were all of the available tables.

Ah, perhaps its only including ones that have the standard Epicor added UD fields of Character01, etc. I notice ABCCode doesn’t have that. I came off MT so I have lots of those.

Ah, we’re doing a new implementation, so when I started working on it, mine looked like Tim’s initial screenshot. I was just looking at another thread that mentioned how user fields were moved into UD tables at some point.
