UD field in SerialNo table displays error when updatgin

I’ve created a number of UD fields in the SerialNo table (10.2.300.12), and whenever I update them I get the following error message:

I understand why the message exists… serial number records should be inviolate. I’m not a fan of just suppressing this message entirely (may not be possible anyway), but is there any way I can have it ignore updates to UD fields?

Would it be a better practice to use a UD table instead and just link them together?

Hi Ernie,

I think you’d be better off using a UD table. That message is fairly annoying IMO, even getting it when just adding attachments. I have no idea if/how to get around it.
