UD Fields "Hidden By Default" - UI Component Disappears

When adding a component in Application Studio that is bound to a UD Field where the ‘Hidden By Default’ option is enabled, the component is not visible.

After reopening the app in Application Studio, the component is not visible. It isn’t exactly “Hidden” in the traditional sense.. you can still see its bounding box, but there is nothing inside. I haven’t been able to do anything to make it reappear.

Has anyone else experienced this? I assume it is a bug related to the “Hidden By Default” feature..

As I understand it, “Hidden By Default” prevents the UD field from being automatically added as a visible column in grids. This is how it behaved in Classic, anyway..

Yep, been waiting for my prb to be fixed for over a year now.

Truth.

It’s actually a longer story. They fixed the issue where it disappears from the canvas but at the same time introduced a new bug where marking it hidden by default makes it uneditable even when it should be editable. So basically you just can’t use hidden by default anymore. Pretend the feature never existed and you won’t feel my frustration.

I was already on my way to unchecking the box…

Thanks for confirming.

At least I didn’t have to Regenerate Data Model after unchecking the “Hidden By Default” option… the behavior went away immediately.
