I suppose you could trap the Void method w/ a Before_method routine and effectively kill it and make it impossible to execute.
Then, to Void, you'd simply mark tag as returned with zero counted.
The whole thing is pretty absurd. Reminds me of the unforgiving (to human entry error) Inspection and DMR processing applications.
...I;m sure support would say it is working as designed (especially since it apparently agrees with the help files) and insinuate that, because it is impacting an asset value, it must be irreversible.
Imagine if A/R and A/P were like that? [;o

Well the problem we are having is that it looks like the tag was returned
and then voided. Which is causing the variance report to come up higher than
we expect it to. I've read the help screen from top to bottom and it seems
that even though it is voided the variance report is still picking it up.
However when the group is posted since it is voided the tags count will be
set to zero. However, we use the variance report to confirm things before we
post the count. So we are trying to make the variance report show what is
really going to happen.
Any suggestions?

Yep, even in 8.03.407...if you look at the help screen when you are in
count entry where you actually void the tags, it will tell you that once
voided, it is voided! I think the only thing you can really do is
create a blank tag to offset the voided one.
Haven't played with this to see if it would work or not.

What version are you on?
I know in 6.1 once you void it is voided! Doesn't matter whether you
post or not!

Not after posting and updating inventory.
Prior to that - sure.

Can a count tag be un-voided?
