We have a client who wants to receive there goods in Square meter but have in inventory shown as meters. I was looking at the UOM class and the conversion only works with multiply or divide and not square root. Does anyone have an idea how I can put that conversion so the we can receipt in square meters and have it correctly convert it to meters ready to be used for inventory
Area UOM’s, like square meters, are length x width. If you want to convert between them you need to factor in the width.
We use lot tracking specifically to solve this issue. We store the parts with an area UOM but include a length and width with every unique lot number in order to be able to move between area and linear measurements.
