Update BoM Operation Standards

If you run the same part on the same workcenter every time, then common
standards would work for you. But in our "Job Shop" environment, a
workcenter, such as a drill press sees a variety of different parts and each
part has its own PPH (Pieces per Hour) for that operation. A mass change
for standards would not work for us.

Subject: Re: [Vantage] Update BoM Operation Standards

The standards that are in the master table when the BoM is first created is
saved with that BoM. Engineering is the only ones allowed to create and
change BoMs. From one order/job to the next, they may have made a change in
the BoM if part results were not what they wanted. So when Production
Control creates a new job they have to copy from Methods of Manufacturing to
get the latest BoM.

I can see a mass replace for operations, workcenter, etc but not to update
the standards to what's currently in the master. This does not make sense
like you said, so I didn't know if I've been overlooking something.

So you are saying even after you tweak your operation standards you have
to go back to the old BOM's and tweak those standards? That doesn't
make any sense at all.

You can save your job Bom back to the part master Bom. Look under Parts,
revision. you can get bom from jobs, quotes or another part methods.
