V8 - Crystal Runtime XI R2 not Releasing Sessions

Update:

The session are not hanging. They will close on their own after about 60
minutes. Epicor's workaround was to allow more server sessions in the
database config so that don't run out and get the error. Problem is each
session takes 64Mb of RAM while it is open.

> Could you tell me how to kill the ODBC connections in Promon?

You can kill them under the shutdown database options, but I would think it
would be hard to tell which session was which. They will close on their own
if you don't run out of resources first.

Sure. Create a shortcut on your server desktop as follows:

E:\epicor\oe100b\bin\_mprshut.exe -0 e:\epicor\mfgsys80\db\mfgsys

Hope that helps!

We are having a problem when running reports based on Crystal runtime XI R2
after upgrading our test database to the 808 patch. After the report is run,
the ODBC session is not closed. Thus after three reports our server runs out
of "resources". We can fix it by killing the odbc user sessions in promon.

Has anyone else seen this? We spent a lot of time with Epicor support and
they don't seem to have an answer yet. We suspect the program is with the
Crystal runtime and not Progress. Support is still trying to figure out the
problem, but in the meantime I'm wondering if we are the only ones seeing
this problem?

Thanks
Brian

We are also having the same problem. And like you have not gotten a solution From Epicor. I have been running reports for people as they need them, but that will get old real fast.
Could you tell me how to kill the ODBC connections in Promon? How to get to Promon and the steps required? I'd appreciate any help.
